DJ MICHELLE PESCE grew up in Youngstown, Ohio with a deep love for 80s & 90s hip-hop and pop. During her burgeoning career in personal publicity at the entertainment PR firm Wolf-Kasteler, she worked with some of the top actors and musicians in the world. Pesce attended Woodstock '99 and was moved by the energy created when you mix some of the world's best musicians and 200,000 fans. It was through that 3-day experience that she was inspired to begin DJ'ing and soon after bought a set of Technics turntables to teach herself the craft. A year later she was introduced to DJ Spinderella (Salt-n-Pepa) who served as a mentor and helped launch her into the LA hip-hop scene. In 2004, Pesce made the tough decision to leave her reputable publicity career and focus on DJ'ing full time.
Since then, Pesce has become one of the most sought-after DJs performing at private parties and clubs in France, Spain, Kenya, Uganda, Canada, Haiti and Mexico and is a staple in the Hollywood event scene. From her domestic and international gigs playing old-school hip hop party jams to rocking A-list crowds at events for the Academy Awards, Golden Globes and multiple film festivals, she is in high demand. She is also the only DJ to ever spin 6x at music's biggest night - the Recording Academy’s Official Grammy After-Party. Pesce's presence in Hollywood even landed her a gig playing herself on "Entourage" and performing live on the #1 national morning show, "Good Morning America" multiple times.
Pesce mixes the flavor of hip hop with rock, electro, funk and pop while always showing love for her 80s/90s roots. She regularly spins for top tier clients such as Instyle, GQ, W, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Marie Claire, People, Entertainment Weekly, HBO, Paramount, Fox Searchlight, Warner Bros, Viacom, NBCUniversal, Audi, Google, Motorola, Samsung, Soho House West Hollywood, The Toronto Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, The Clinton Foundation, Women In Film, LAXART, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Saint Laurent, Marni, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Vera Wang, Fendi, Marc Jacobs, Tod's, Club Monaco, BCBG, 7 For All Mankind, Levi's, H&M, Puma, Nike, UTA, CAA, WME/IMG and private parties for numerous actors, top industry leaders and musicians.
In 2015, Pesce took her 15 years of experience in the DJ industry and expanded her business by starting Nona Entertainment, an artist entertainment company. “The knowledge and experience I received working in marketing at Fox Broadcasting, as a personal publicist at Wolf-Kasteler and then by managing my own career as a full-time DJ has naturally led me to launch Nona Entertainment,” Pesce said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m excited to continue to work with top-tier companies that I have built strong relationships with by teaming them up with artists I believe in.” Nona works closely with clients and DJ’s to craft the perfect musical vibe for a wide range of events.
After 17 years in the music industry, Pesce shows no signs of slowing down. She has expanded her focus to include her multiple passions- DJ, Nona Entertainment, activist and uniting female DJ’s.
